Click the gear icon in the top navigation to open reading preferences. Select your preferred translation from the list and click "Save Preference".

Yes! Click the translate icon in any verse toolbar to open the compare translations dialog. You can add multiple translations to compare side by side.

Use the URL format /chapter:verse (e.g., /2:255 for Ayat al-Kursi). You can also use the Juz navigation bar to jump to different sections.

Yes! Click the lightbulb icon in any verse toolbar to access commentaries. Multiple commentary sources are available for deeper understanding.

Yes! In the reading preferences (gear icon), you can adjust both Arabic text and translation font sizes using the + and - buttons.

First select a reciter in reading preferences (gear icon). Then click the play button next to any chapter in the sidebar or chapters modal. Use the audio controls to play, pause, skip chapters, and adjust repeat settings.

Verse focus automatically highlights and scrolls to the verse being recited during audio playback. Click the eye icon in the audio controls to enable it. When enabled, the page will automatically navigate to match the playing chapter and highlight verses in real-time.

Double-click (or double-tap on mobile) any verse text to play just that verse. The verse will be highlighted while playing. If the main chapter audio is playing, it will pause and resume after the verse finishes. This works in both verse view and continuous reading view.

On the home page, find the "Data Management" section and click the "Export" button. This downloads a JSON file containing all your bookmarks, notes, references, reading history, and preferences. The file is named with the current date and time (e.g., almubin-data-2024-01-15T14-30-25.json).

Click the "Import" button in the Data Management section and select a previously exported JSON file. The import process safely merges your data - it won't overwrite existing bookmarks, notes, or references. Only new items are added, and preferences are only imported if they're not already set.

We prioritise your privacy. Export/import keeps your data completely under your control - no accounts, no cloud storage, no data collection. Your personal notes, bookmarks, and reading history stay on your devices. You can sync across browsers and devices by simply transferring the exported file.

The export includes: all bookmarked verses, personal notes on verses, custom reference collections, reading history, and all your preferences (selected reciter, translation, font settings, Arabic font family and size, view preferences, audio settings, and commentary selections).
